Looking beyond experience, how can you identify a young candidate’s potential?

May 3 2017

 Date: Wednesday 21 June 2017

Time: 13.30 – 16.00

Venue: The Boardroom, Ronald McDonald House, Hathersage Road, Manchester, M13 0BH

Back in 2015, Business in the Community and City & Guilds Group surveyed 4000 young people about their experiences of finding work. 57% said that companies asking for previous experience was a major barrier for them when they were applying for jobs.

Too many employers are relying on standard requirements for previous experience to help sift applicants for entry level roles with little thought about how they could more accurately assess a candidate’s potential to do the job.

To help tackle this issue, we would like to invite you to attend our workshop, kindly hosted by NHS, focusing on how you can you identify a young candidate’s potential.

Open to all HR professionals/Early Careers/Talent Managers based in the Greater Manchester area, workshop delegates will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear how companies such as NHS and United Utilities use different techniques to identify potential in young people without relying on previous experience.

  • Receive top tips on how you can implement these practices in your own organisations.

  • Participate in an interactive group exercise to learn how to uncover young people’s hidden talents using practical behaviour based recruitment methods.

  • Learn more about the opportunities to get involved in Greater Manchester Talent Match

  • Hear about success stories from the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme.

Spaces at this workshop are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to attend, please SIGN UP HERE to be added the guest list.

This workshop, one of four quarterly, is co-presented by Greater Manchester Talent Match and Business in the Community.
